Section 301 Increases Go into Effect

On Friday, September 13, the Biden administration finalized the tariffs on certain items from China. Starting on or after September 27th, 2024. This new update also introduces 3 new 301 HTS codes to identify the items that fall within these new tariffs. 9903.91.01 at 25%, 9903.91.02 at 50% , and  9903.91.03 at 100%.

The following items will have their section 301 increases go into effect on September 27, 2024.

Critical Minerals – 25%

Ship-to-shore Cranes – 25%

N95 Masks – 25%

Medical Gloves – 25%

Solar Cells – 50%

Electric Vehicles – 100%
 

The next set of items listed will go into effect on January 1, 2025, and have the additional HTS codes: 9903.91.04 at 25%, 9903.91.05 at 50%.

Face Masks – 25%

Medical Gloves – 50%

Semiconductor devices – 50%

The final set of items listed will go into effect on January 1, 2026, and have additional HTS codes 9903.91.06, 9903.91.07 and 9903.91.08

Graphite – 25%

Lithium Storage Batteries - 25%

N95 Masks – 50%

Medical Gloves 100%
