Diesel Price Drops

Diesel Price Drops 4.6¢ to $3.754 a Gallon

Diesel fuel’s national average price shed 4.6 cents to $3.754 a gallon in its third straight decline, according to U.S. Information Administration data released Aug. 12.

The price drop is nearly four times the amount of the previous two weeks combined. A gallon of trucking’s main fuel now costs 5 cents more than it did at this time in 2024.

Regional Trends

The average price dropped in all five PADDs, the largest being 5 cents a gallon along the East Coast. The Lower Atlantic subregion of the East Coast posted the sharpest decline at 6.7 cents. The Rocky Mountain Region posted the smallest decline, 1.7 cents, and the Central Atlantic subregion reported a 1.6-cent dip.
