Antidumping and Countervailing Cases Update

Antidumping (AD) and countervailing (CV) duties are trade measures used to protect domestic industries from unfair competition. AD duties target products sold below fair market value, while CV duties address subsidies provided by foreign governments to their exporters.

It is important to follow any relevant AD and CV cases for your business, as they determine the duties that may be imposed on imported goods, which directly affect the cost of those goods.

The following new developments have recently taken place in the recent in Antidumping and/or Countervailing duty cases:

• Door Panels – AD and CV injury investigations have been initiated concerning fiberglass door panels imported from China;
• Chassis – Initiation of AD investigations on chassis and their subassemblies from Mexico, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as CV investigations on these goods from Mexico and Thailand;
• Paper Plates – AD duty orders have been issued on paper plates from China, Thailand, and Vietnam, along with CV duty orders for paper plates from China and Vietnam;
• Plastic boxes – institution of AD/ CV duty investigations of polypropylene corrugated boxes from China and Vietnam;
• MDD – A dumping investigation has been initiated for methylene diphenyl diisocyanate imported from China.
