Aluminum, Steel and Possibly More Tariffs On The Way
Steel & Aluminum
US President Trump stated that he will announce 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum on Monday, February 10, 2025. Canada and Mexico are among the largest exporter of steel and aluminum to the United States. Canada is by far the largest exporter of aluminum to the United States, providing 39% of the total aluminum.
Reciprocal Tariffs
Trump has also recently announced that he will implement reciprocal tariffs on everyone by saying “if they charge us, we charge them”. There has not yet been any announcement as to which countries or tariff numbers these will apply to, or what the duty rate will be. This plan would seek to raise tariffs on imports from countries that charge high tariffs on American goods.
Allyn International will inform you when these tariffs are set to go into effect once their details are released.
