Allyn International to Participate in Great American Smokeout

Posted on November 19, 2013

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Nov. 19, 2013) – On Thursday, Nov. 21, Allyn International (Allyn) team members will be urged to quit smoking "cold turkey" in recognition of the Great American Smokeout in addition to annual Turkey Bowl festivities.

Turkey Bowl festivities include games and refreshments for team members before the busy holiday season. The namesake turkey bowl involves rolling a frozen turkey and knocking down plastic bottles of water to win small prizes. In addition to festivities, Allyn is using the nationally recognized Great American Smokeout to educate team members and raise awareness about the risk of using tobacco products.
"Allyn, as an organization, has always supported tobacco-free living and made it part of our culture," commented Allen Trevett, CEO of Allyn International. "If any team member wants to quit their dependence on tobacco, we will provide assistance – it's the right thing to do.

The Great American Smokeout is a great way to send that message loud and clear."
The Great American Smokeout is celebrated nationwide as a 24-hour tobacco free day and gives everyone the chance to kick start a healthier lifestyle. This year is the 26th year for The Great American Smokeout, where the American Cancer Society encourages the over 43 million cigarette smokers to quit. Every Allyn employee that quits “cold turkey” will be eligible for a free raffle ticket to win a Thanksgiving turkey.
