PRAGUE (January 8, 2015) – Allyn International´s Prague office donated 12,300 Czech crowns (approximately 540 USD) to Dětský domov se školou v Praze 2, a locally operated orphanage. The money will be used to support sport activities and buying new sports equipment. The orphanage takes care mostly about teenage children (age 13 to 18) coming from problematic environments or children with no family.

“Sports are very important for growing children. It is not only a fun activity, but it also teaches them a lot about endurance and determination. While helping children with any sport, we strengthen their physical and mental powers,” said the headmaster of the orphanage Jan Smolka. “We train both cross-country skiing and jump skiing, recently we started with the biathlon. We attend the winter games for children from orphanages every year,” added Smolka.

The Prague office is currently planning more charity activities that would support the orphanage in 2015.

Allyn has a history of giving to those in need. Every quarter, employees nominate a charity to support and hold various fundraisers such as bake sales, silent auctions, and chili cook-offs. The proceeds from these events, combined with Allyn's matching funds, have generated more than $140,000 distributed to charitable organizations since 1992.
