Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL) for Singapore-Malaysia

Singapore-Malaysia land VTL to be launched on Nov 29, travelers must use designated bus services. The initial land VTL arrangement, travelers whom only eligible for citizens, permanent residents, or long-term pass holders of the country that they are entering without the need for quarantine.

On 20 December 2021 (Monday), Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry has announced that the Singapore-Malaysia land VTL will be opened to both Singapore and Malaysian citizens.

This to allow for more groups of people to travel between Singapore and Malaysia — Malaysian citizens can now enter Singapore, and Singapore citizens can likewise enter Malaysia.

The launch of the VTL (Land) is a big step towards reconnecting the people and economies, and will further enhance the bilateral relationship between Singapore and Malaysia.

All travelers entering Singapore will still have to undergo COVID-19 testing protocols as follows:

  • An on-arrival Antigen Rapid Test (ART), and
  • A post-arrival seven-day ART regime.

To efficient the declare procedure, new process of the travelers will be required to submit the results of their self-administered ART online after arrival in Singapore against the formal testing protocols where it will be administered and make an e-payment for ART directly at the centre of Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange and Queen Street Terminal.

Travelers must test negative on their self-administered ART before going out for activities in the period of seven day.

As for travelers entering Malaysia, they are reminded:

  • To be fully vaccinated,
  • To undergo professional RTK-antigen (RTK-Ag) testing or RT-PCR testing two days before departure for Malaysia, and
  • To undergo on-arrival professional RTK-Ag testing at Larkin Central Bus Terminal, Johor Bahru.

Additional testing will be required for VTL travelers returning to Malaysia from Singapore where they have to undergo professional RTK-Ag testing on day three and day five after arrival and administer self-rapid antigen (RT-Ag) testing on day two, day four, and day six after arrival.

All self-test results must be reported through Malaysia's MySejahtera application, and travelers will not subject to quarantines.
