Maersk Still Dealing With Effects of Cyberattack

Maersk Line, which was hit by the Petya Cyberattack on June 27th, is still working to get all operations back to normal.  The attack on the world’s biggest container line initially crippled the IT infrastructure of the company and forced them to shut down IT systems company-wide.  Most affected was the company’s ability to book, quote, E-mail or exchange data with customers.

Most affected terminals are now up and running and the company is once again taking online bookings and handling cargo in transit.  There remain issues with communication and EDI but operations seem to be improving.

It remains to be seen what the level of impact will be on the delivery of goods in transit, and when full operations will return to normal.  Allyn will continue to stay close to this situation and provide updates.

If you have any questions about freight booked with Maersk, or if you would like additional information, please call Allyn International at (239)489-9900 or email us at sales@allynintl.com.
