Laredo World Trade Bridge Closed

Cargo movement at the World Trade Bridge in Laredo is currently temporarily suspended, with all commercial freight being rerouted to the Colombia Bridge.  On Sunday May, 21 a severe storm swept through the area leaving a path of power outages, flooding and structural damage.

As the World Trade Bridge is exclusively used for commercial traffic, delays in border crossing are anticipated, with priority going to perishables, medical and FAST shipments.  There is no word yet on when the World Trade Bridge will reopen for traffic, until then you may want to consider routing freight thought El Paso or other ports.

If you have any questions about freight currently delayed, or if you would like info on how to avoid delays due to this closing please call Allyn at 239-489-9900 or email us at sales@allynintl.com
