Go Green, Get Green

The Washington State Department of Revenue has announced that persons who plan to have solar canopies constructed at commercial centers may apply for a sales and use tax deferral. To qualify, the solar canopy must be new and at least 50,000 sqft installed in the qualifying commercial center, be constructed within two years of the issuance of the tax deferral certificate, contain a solar energy system, and remain connected to the electrical grid while producing solar energy for at least 8 years.

A Small Price to Pay for a Vacation—Arizona Short-Term Rental Requirements.

Arizona adds to the authorizations for a city, town, or county to regulate a vacation or short-term rental, which includes a regulatory permit or license, notifications, and liability insurance. It caps the civil penalties imposed for a verified violation. It also requires that the transaction privilege tax license be on each advertisement for a vacation rental that the owner or owner's designee maintains.
