How COVID-19 Has Changed the Aviation Industry

The present pandemic caused by COVID-19 affected every aspect of how aviation does their business. Not only do they encounter a noticeable change in everyday tasks but also deviate how airlines work, how airports operate, and how it affects the environment worldwide. However, in the long term, the industry could be reshaped by inventing and investing in new technology.
The first COVID-19 case was reported in the USA on January 15th, today the number of cases surged to 603,488 countrywide in just three months. It has resulted in the border and terminal closures, canceled flights and converting major airlines into cargo-only flights. Many major international carriers have declared Force Majeure affecting price increases; they have reported delays due to border restrictions and increased capacity, mainly for the transport of medical supplies and aid in food. Employees adopted to remote work, and more people are relying on social platforms such as Skype, Zoom, and other media means to connect. The prolonged disruption will have several consequences, starting with fewer flights aside from cargo movements.
Technology is reshaping our future is as we adapt to changing environments. Reduced passenger traffic may mean that investors could allocate funds to develop drones and autonomous vehicles to serve its whole ecosystem better. One of the future developments is Hyperloop, which will reinvent transportation to eliminate the barriers of distance and time. This technology is now under construction and well-funded by investors. Although it's still underway for the next ten years, it aims to replace a lot of the traffic in traditional commercial and cargo airlines.
At Allyn International, we are always ready to embrace the future and adapt to ever-changing technology. Through it all, we are here to deliver our services as the future unfolds.
