Coronavirus Update - July 21
Allyn International is committed to providing you with the latest updates during this very fluid and ever-changing period. Our goal with the information provided below is to give you at a high-level, a current overview of the most heavily impacted regions.
After six months, we continue to be in a global pandemic but see many areas returning to a new normal. We will remain vigilant in all of our offices and operations and closely monitor developments globally.
Global Air Updates
- Argentina and Colombia have banned all international passenger travel until September 2020.
- Overall air freight capacity remains 26% below pre-COVID levels.
- United Airlines began operating 18 flights from Newark and San Francisco to Delhi, following an “air bubble agreement”. UAE, France and Germany have also entered into similar agreements and negotiations with Britain are in the final stages
Global Ocean Updates
- For the third straight week, China-US ocean rates remained stable after a month-long tear and carriers blanked fewer sailings and restored some of the cancellations.
- Chinese regions of Anhui, Hubei, Jiangxi and Zhejiang have been impacted by flooding. Delays are possible.
Global Road Transport Updates
- As virus infections rise again in Hong Kong, there is no current impact on road freight between China and Hong Kong.
- Brazilian borders remain closed and currently, only cargo can enter the country. No delays are being experienced at the borders.
- Non-essential travel between the US and Canada will be restricted until at least August 21.

- Capacity is limited from India to APAC, Europe, Middle East and the US.
- Capacity is available from Singapore to all trade locations expect the United States. Capacity is limited to the US.

- Spot rates remain slightly above last year’s level, but below the five-year average. Areas that may see an increase are:
- Loads with the origin of Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Delaware, Rhode Island and Maine.
- Loads with the destination of Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Delaware, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine.
