Coronavirus Update - August 25
Allyn International is committed to providing you with the latest updates during this very fluid and everchanging period. Our goal with the information provided below is to give you at a high-level, a current overview of the most heavily impacted regions.
Global Updates
- Maintenance schedules for aircraft have led to capacity reductions in the airfreight market.
- Ocean liners have curtailed their blank sailing schedules and added capacity back into the market. Capacity remains tight on Asia-US trade lanes and prices are expected to increase to new all-time highs when carriers implement their fifth general rate increase since early June.
- With the exception of India, road transport in the AP region is fully operational and experiencing only minor delays or disruptions.
- New COVID safety measures of varying degrees are being implemented across Europe to help curb the second wave of infections. All essential activities remain operational.
