Coronavirus Update - April 15

Allyn International is committed to providing you with the latest and most accurate updates during this very fluid and everchanging period. Our goal with the information provided below, is to give you, at a high-level, a current overview of the most heavily impacted regions.

Following a similar path of the initial spread of the virus, the recovery is traveling westward. In China, the daily infection rate has decreased to a trickle of new cases and 94 percent of those infected have recovered. While throughout Europe, recovery percentages are lower but increasing day-by-day. The United States, with the largest infection rate worldwide is beginning to see less and less infections each day and large outbreaks have been centralized within a few large cities.

Although important to note the progress being made, the COVID-19 global pandemic continues to greatly impact many countries throughout the world. The recovery will be slow; but slow and steady always wins the race.

United State of America Domestic Trucking Overview – Updated 04.15.2020

Depending on the state your items are being shipped from and to will determine whether you will pay more or less to transport goods. Our research and analysis show an overall decline in load requests and many carriers are proactively searching for cargo to transport, particularly within the LTL sector.

Key findings:

  • Local pick-ups and deliveries may experience delays or disruptions due to non-essential business closures and reduced workforces
  • Land borders are open, minor delays (< 1 hour) at most border crossings
  • Capacity available for both LTL and TL shipments

Our operations and consulting teams are working diligently and will continue to offer alternative solutions to move your cargo in the most cost-effective and efficient way possible. All Allyn International regional offices are fully operational and will continue to support you as we navigate the current and future challenges.
