Chilean Customs Strike

The National Association of Chilean Customs Workers (ANFACH) unhappy over working conditions, pay and tax reform entered into an indefinite strike on Wednesday May 20, 2015. As a result, no cargo importing or exporting from Chile will be processed.

Shipments that arrive to Chile during the strike will incur storage charges, while they wait to clear customs.  If you will be sending any air shipments to Chile you may want to delay until there is notification that the strike will be over.

If you have questions about how this may affect your business and how to mitigate the increased costs associated with this strike please contact Allyn at (239) 489-9900 or sales@allynintl.com.
