CBSA’s New Priorities Should Be Your Priorities

Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has released their new Trade Compliance Verifications. As of July 2022, CBSA will be cracking down on items ranging from the classification of LED lamps to the valuation of shoes. 

CBSA is responsible for ensuring all goods imported into Canada are done so correctly. To maintain compliance, CBSA conducts random and targeted verifications. These targeted verifications are based on CBSA’s constantly changing list of Verification Priorities.

The priorities are broken down into three sections: Tariff Classification, Valuation, and Origin. See the most recent Priorities below:
