ADD Changes for Aluminum Extrusions
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) modified Anti-Dumping Duty order (ADD) A570-967 on February 24, 2014. The changes extend the scope of the order to include additional parts and types of products. This modification to the order may require importers to provide additional information upon import.
Anti-Dumping case A570-967 is specifically directed at imported aluminum extrusions from China. Unless the product being imported falls under one of the order’s exceptions, the duty will apply. Exceptions are allowed for extruded aluminum of a series (designation of the alloy composition) that does not start with a 1, 3, or 6, as well as finished merchandise that has aluminum extrusions permanently assembled in the good. Also excluded are extrusions included in a “finished goods kit”, and finished heat sinks (as long as they meet thermal performance and have been tested to comply with standards).
