On Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, a U.S. holiday, retailers and store brands across the U.S. will offer bargain deals and large discounts. Some of these deals reach as high as 90 percent, on numerous product categories. Many Black Friday deals can also be found on U.S.-based e-commerce websites and online store brands.
This means that even those living outside the U.S. can take full advantage of the flagship American sales period to purchase electronics, home appliances, clothing, toys and other goods at bargain prices that are hard to ignore.
Last year, Koreans directly purchased goods from the U.S. worth around 800 billion won ($698 million) during the Black Friday sales period. The figures have surpassed $1 trillion won this year, according to the Korea Customs Service.
Korea Incheon Airport Customs stated that it is proceeding more thoroughly on customs clearance of various express cargoes shipped to Korea from overseas countries such as the US by the end of next month at the end of the year holiday season & Black Friday.Incheon airport customs officials said, "All goods, including shipping costs, that are less than $200 are subject to tariff exemption but some people often misrepresent product names and prices in order not to pay tax."
Before making an order, make sure that the products you wish to purchase meet South Korea’s import regulations. All restricted items are discarded during customs check, in line with customs protocol.Up to six bottles of vitamins and health supplements, one bottle of perfume under 60 milliliters and one bottle of alcohol under one liter are permitted for entry into Korea.
If you send an item over $200 to Korea, you must include the recipient's personal clearance code to prevent delays in customs clearance. If it is less than $200, it is better to include a receipt.
