Holiday E-Commerce of 2018

Online shopping is a growing trend that is gaining more popularity each year.  The holiday shopping season for 2018, November 1 through December 31, is projected $119.99 billion spent at online retailers.  This is an increase of almost 16% compared to the numbers of 2017.  With increased online retail sales, comes high shipping traffic.  USPS, as well as other carriers, such as FedEx and UPS, are at maximum capacity during these peak times each year. 

Carriers proactively use business strategies and tactics to tackle and embrace the hustle during the holidays.  UPS is now using some automated “super hub” locations with temporary seasonal employees during the holiday season, while Amazon and Fedex invest in additional seasonal delivery drivers to meet demands.
