California Local Sales & Use Tax Rates Change

State Board of Equalization announced local sales and use tax rate increases

The California State Board of Equalization has announced increases to a number of local sales and use tax rates effective October 1, 2012.

Of the eight counties listed, all experienced an increase in rates.  Rate changes ranged from 0.25% to 1% compared to the old rates.  
California SBE Special Tax Notice Number L-321, dated 9/1/2012, details the jurisdictions and their new rates.  Additionally, Solano County extended its present tax rate through September 30, 2030.  Stanislaus County extended it current tax rate through June 30, 2018.
